ANIMAL CREMATORY LICENSE AND COMPLIANCE
The Board issues crematory licenses to a fixed location that offers animal crematory services. All licenses expire on December 31st of every even-numbered year. The responsible owner and the operator for a crematory do not have to be one and the same.
If the owner is a Corporation, the Articles of Incorporation must be submitted at the time of application. Evidence that the operator received training in the safe and proper operation of the cremation chamber must also be submitted at the time of application.
The Crematory Inspection Report may be a useful tool in regards to different security measures required of a crematory and what is expected regarding processing equipment, safety equipment and information concerning written procedures. Pending inspection and licensure, the crematory may open for business once the completed application and appropriate fee have been submitted to the Board's office.
